Billing the Rebbe

Rivkah Zakutinsky recalls the inspiration she gained from traveling with her class to visit the Rebbe. Motivated by the Rebbe to be proactive in spreading Judaism, she decided to begin a Shabbos group for the local Jewish children. She had everything in place to begin, except the necessary funds, until she reached out to the Rebbe.

Rivkah Zakutinsky: This is a very beautiful story and a unique way to teach, not just children but I think adults, too. When there was little money to finance schools in the state I would be born in (Ark.), then investment bankers worked to create the business. My Father would college football in the beginning with leather helmets with the children of the First Investment Banking Family. And later, they would reward him with a job in one of their businesses. Later, time would be spent trying to learn banking, where the flow of numbers, checks, and balance sheets began to be processed via the computer. And in this town, the community was paying off its Bonds 20 years early when Felix Royatyn was struggling to keep NYC from bankruptcy. IN this time period, the realities of financial numbers seemingly did not equate to that of the realities of physic numbers and my mind was left in a boggle of sorts. How do you teach the verticle 8 against the horizontal 8, a capacity? Thinking? Reply
