A Sense of Pride

Our small Jewish nation, dispersed among many, sometimes seems too small to matter to the rest of the world's peoples. Occasionally, it may even feel appropriate to try blending in; to compromise on our own unique traditions and blend in with those who surround us.

A Sense of Pride
Disc 164, Program 655

Event Date: 14 Adar 5742 - March 09, 1982

Our small Jewish nation, dispersed among many, sometimes seems too small to matter to the rest of the world's peoples. Occasionally, it may even feel appropriate to try blending in; to compromise on our own unique traditions and blend in with those who surround us.

The Purim story teaches us that the opposite is true. We earn the other nations’ trust and respect when we show our unwavering commitment to our own traditions, letting them shine as a light unto the rest of the world.
