When Meir Moss returned to his Jewish roots and decided to attend a yeshiva in his teens, his father, a holocaust survivor who had become alienated from Judaism, decided to take it up with the Rebbe. He travelled to all the way to New York from Melbourne, Australia but forgot to lodge his complaint with the Rebbe. (1970's)
