The Jewish Woman – Part 2
Disc 19, Program 76
Event Date: 6 Tishrei 5745 - October 02, 1984
Jewish women are entrusted by G-d to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people. Despite the pains and hardships involved in pregnancy, labor, birth and child rearing, they have always fulfilled this essential role with joy and a deep sense of mission. Today, some women wish to exchange or postpone this great privilege, thinking their self worth to be measured instead by financial success or fame. Their time is spent on concerns which, relative to their true mission, have no importance at all, while their biological clocks tick on. A grown woman cannot become the mainstay of her family overnight; it requires long and loving preparation. A Jewish daughter must be educated, already from youth, to know her most vital mission: to lead a Jewish home and raise sons and daughters who are committed to Torah and Mitzvos. |
