Torah and Mitzvos are the foundations of every Jewish household. The three most fundamental Mitzvos of Jewish family life – Family Purity, Kosher food preparation, and Shabbos and Festival candles, were given especially to the Jewish woman, as it is she who is the solid pillar of the home.

Some claim that Jewish women must be “freed” to emulate men. G-d commands us: A man shall not wear a woman’s garments, nor a woman, a man’s garments – their wholeness cannot be achieved by imitating the other; each must focus on their own enormous mission in this world and their unique role according to Torah.

The greatest concern of the Jewish people is to ensure that Torah continues on to yet another generation which follows in the same way. How can there be an unbreakable chain from Sinai? Only a woman can achieve this.
