There are two spiritual paths for the Jewish soul: the Torah scholar, who is completely engrossed in, and surrounded, by Judaism, or the supporter of Torah, “the businessman,” who is in constant contact with the influences of the world. The Alter Rebbe’s priority was bringing people back to G-d, regardless of any negative influences to which they may have been exposed. His actions serve as an example, and give us added strength to see success in spreading Yiddishkeit, even in “the depths of the land.” My father-in-law, the Rebbe, toiled to translate Torah into many languages, in order to make it accessible to all, even those who do not wish to know it in its original language. Just as Moses, the first Rebbe of the Jewish people, exerted himself for the stray sheep, the Rebbe exerted his main efforts especially for such a Jew. |
