Dressing Modestly in the Summer

The laws of modesty apply to men and women. Still, there is a difference stemming from the distinct virtue which women possess.
Tzniut, Lubavitcher Rebbe
Dressing Modestly in the Summer
Disc 129, Program 515

Event Date: 12 Tammuz 5723 - July 04, 1963

The laws of modesty and length of clothing apply to both men and women. Still, there is a difference, stemming from the distinct virtue which women possess.

The mitzvah to dress modestly is perhaps one of the most challenging, especially during the summer, but the Rebbe explains that that’s precisely why it was given to Jewish women.

One of the biggest problems in this culture regarding modest clothing is how rare it is in the stores. The fashion industry needs to change this, and especially the tzinius stores. Tzinius clothing should be more available to purchase.
