Joy Reaches Highest

Disc 7, Program 26
Event Date: 10 Shevat 5742 - February 03, 1982
King David, in his songs of prayer and praise, writes, “Serve G-d with joy.” It is not only the service in prayer that must be joyful, but all of our activities. These means that our study of Torah — our Jewish intellectual life — and our acts of kindness — our Jewish communal life — must also be infused with joy. In fact, since we must serve G-d in everything we do, even our mundane activities – our entire life – must be joyful. The unique power of joy allows us to break through the barriers that keep us apart from G-d. And our joyous service evokes a joyous response from Above, leading us to the time of the Moshiach, when the tenth and ultimate song will be sung to G-d in the greatest joy. |
