The Small Luminary
Disc 119, Program 473
Event Date: 28 Tishrei 5741 - October 08, 1980
The book of Genesis relates that on the fourth day of creation G-d created the two luminaries; the great luminary, the sun, to shine by day, and the small luminary, the moon, to shine by night. It is specifically the latter to which Torah literature compares the Jewish people. They are likened to a small child in whom G-d delights, possessing the ability to bring their Father joy even in the darkest of times. |
