As the end of the exile approaches and the Redemption draws near, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, began to dispatch emissaries to many diverse locations, some of them quite far geographically.

There are those who, when asked to join the effort to disseminate Torah and Mitzvos, agree to be sent only to places with no less than several thousand Jews – otherwise, they consider it “beneath their abilities.”

“It is fitting for the servant to be like his Master.” G-d promises that at the end of the exile, He Himself will take each and every Jew by the hand, and go with each, individually, to the Land of Israel. He won’t wait for a large number of Jews to assemble before He leads them out of exile… Rather, G-d promises: “You will be collected one by one.” You should be no better than G-d, to go save even one single Jew!
