By the Grace of G‑d,
11 Nissan, 5734 [April 3, 1974]
Brooklyn, N.Y.

(This letter was written to a girl under the age of Bat Mitzvah.)

Blessings and Greetings!

Many thanks for your beautiful letter, beautiful in content and also by design with its pleasant decorations.

Since you write that you are getting ready to welcome Chag HaAviv, Chag HaPesach (the Festival of Spring, the Festival of Pesach), you certainly know the Haggadah of Pesach, and what it says there about the four sons; one wise, etc. Obviously girls are also included in these [four sons].

No doubt that you are trying to be a “wise daughter,” as befits a daughter of our Matriarchs, Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel and Leah, who built the House of Israel [the Jewish People].

May it be G‑d's will that you will succeed in this area and that you will be an everlasting source of true nachas (pride) for your parents.

With blessings for a kosher and happy Pesach.
