Greetings and blessings,

In response to your letter in which you ask whether you should buy a business in partnership with another [Jew] who does not observe Shabbos when the business will be run in such a way that Shabbos will not be kept, but that that will be part of the other person’s portion of the business.

You are certainly aware that money that is connected to the desecration of Shabbos not only becomes lost itself, but it draws other money after it. If so, why should you be connected with such business that will very likely lead to losses while it is highly unlikely that it will lead to profits?!

G‑d Who sustains and nourishes all1 will certainly find ample sustenance for you in a koshermanner and in a manner that will enable you to use your livelihood for healthy matters and Jewish matters.

I would be happy to hear that you established fixed times for Torah study together with a group. You will certainly bring me joy by informing me of an increase in the number of participants in the study sessions and that they also established a session in the study of the teachings of Chassidus.

With blessing and with greetings to all the participants in the study sessions.

Enclosed is the sichah of Lag BaOmer[published for] this year.2 You will certainly enable others to merit by sharing it with them.
