Greetings and blessings,

Today, I received your letter of June 22 [which relates] that you were together with Mendel Hornstein1 in Treblinka and you were charged with a mission by him.

Mendel Hornstein was my brother-in-law. I would be very thankful to you if you could immediately send me everything that you know about him and his wife Sonya: where they were located in their last days, what transpired with them, the exact dates of their yahrzeits, and what happened to Mendel’s mother when they arrived in Treblinka.

The more complete and particular your answers are, the more thankful I will be to you,

I am awaiting your speedy reply, if possible by airmail, and I thank you in advance.

Mendel Schneerson
