This letter was sent to R. Rafael Toledano, the chief Rabbi of the city of Meknes in Morocco.1

B”H, 17 Menachem Av, 5710

Greetings and blessings,

Today, a telegram regarding the Rabbinical Assembly was sent to the address of the Chief Rabbi of the city of Rabat, Rabbi Shaul Danan. Lest there have been an error in its transliteration into English,2 this is its wording:

I am sending my blessing to all the Rabbis who have gathered together for the sake of Heaven to give careful consideration to strengthening the Torah and Judaism. Certainly, they will make one of their fundamental objectives to [work] with the greatest dedication to ensure kosher [Jewish] education for all of the boys, girls, and youth of your country — and even when they emigrate to other countries. For the existence of our nation is dependent on this education. In the merit of teshuvah, Torah, and mitzvos, G‑d will save us from “the birthpangs of Mashiach” and send us Mashiach in the near future. He will deliver us from our exile and redeem us in the true Redemption.

With honor, with blessing, and with success in your holy work,

Menachem Schneerson

With sentiments of respect and with blessing,
