Greetings and blessings,

In response to your letter: May it be G‑d’s will that you be a fit medium so that all the blessings which my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, granted you will be fulfilled in a complete manner both in material and spiritual matters.

Certainly you have seen the section cited in HaYom Yom, entry for 11 Nissan, regarding conduct on one’s birthday.

Upon the completion of your twentieth year [of life] which is associated with mochin d’abba1 (see Likkutei Torah, Bamidbar, [p. 2a]), it is appropriate that, without committing yourself to a vow, you begin putting on Rabbeinu Tam’s tefillin.2

Surely you recite — without committing yourself to a vow — the Rebbe’s kapitle in Tehillim, which is now kapitle 71, every day.

Signing with blessing,

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
