This letter was addressed to Rabbi Shneur Zalman Duchman, one of the active members of the chassidic brotherhood.

B”H, 7 Iyar, 5710

Greetings and blessings,

Your letter of 26 Nissan arrived. As you requested, I read a pan when I was at the gravesite of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ. I also mentioned your [name] in [the Rebbe’s] private chamber, the place where [chassidim] enter for yechidus and to give [their] pannim. You have certainly consulted the opinion of expert doctors. May the Doctor of all sickness of flesh send you a complete recovery in the immediate future and may you involve yourself with energy in the fulfillment of the will of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, with expanded horizons.

Awaiting good tidings from you in the near future and [sending] greetings to all the members of our brotherhood,

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson

Enclosed is a pamphlet that we have just published. Share it with people at large.

I am surprised that you stopped sending your memoirs.1 You will undoubtedly continue with greater energy and strength.
