Greetings and blessings,

In response to your letter of 9 Elul: As you requested, I will read the enclosed pan at the gravesite of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, at an auspicious time. May it be G‑d’s will that all your requests be fulfilled in both material and spiritual matters.

With regard to your suggestion to motivate the members of the chassidic brotherhood who are now in Paris to immigrate to the Holy Land,תותב"א . 1 According to what they have written here in describing their situation, with the exception of a select few, most of them do not desire to immigrate to the Holy Land for several reasons although they are aware of the matters that you mention. ([Furthermore,] how is it possible to give a general directive when the situations of the individuals differ?) As far as it is known to me, my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, זצוקללה"ה, נבג"מ, זי"ע, הכ"מ, 2 who has very broad shoulders, 3 did not respond to the question of the settlement of the members of the chassidic brotherhood who were refugees as a general issue involving them as a collective, [to be resolved by giving] a command and an order. Instead, he judged and considered the situations and the desires of every person individually. It is also self-understood that my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, הכ"מ, tried very hard [to see] that all the members of the chassidic brotherhood who are located in the Holy Land and those who would, with his consent, settle there in the future, establish themselves, with G‑d’s help, in the best and most fitting manner materially and spiritually. Therefore I am confident that your activity will also be successful materially and spiritually.

May you and your entire household be granted a kesivah vachasimah tovah for a good and sweet year. May it be G‑d’s will that we merit that each of us give and receive tidings that are only good.
