Mr Samuel Feurstein
Brookline, Mass.

Dear Mr. Feurstein:

I wish to take the opportunity to thank you for your cordial reception of the distinguished member of our Board, Rabbi A. Kozarnowsky, who visited you last Sunday in the company of Rabbi Hecht and Mr. L. Hurvitt.

Reporting on his visit, Rabbi Kozarnowsky spoke very highly of you and the interest you displayed in the work of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch. A brief outline of our ramified activities on the reverse side of this letterhead may serve as a reminder.

We are now about to complete the counting of the weeks of the Omer, which connect Pessach, the Festival of our Liberation, with Shovuoth, the Festival of Receiving our Torah. Our sages say that the counting of the Omer is symbolic of the Jews' eagerness to receive the Torah, for upon the liberation of the children of Israel from Egypt they counted each day in eager anticipation of the great event of the receiving of the Torah.

The Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch is dedicated to the ideal of such Jewish education, whereby the Jewish child should not merely acquire the necessary quantity of knowledge, but also the enthusiasm, eagerness and love from the Torah and Commandment which are so vital to our national existence.

I feel confident that you will be glad to extend to us your generous cooperation, whether by underwriting the cost of a special publication, (such as a Jewish History now being prepared for the press), or in any other form

Thanking you in anticipation of your favorable reply, and with best Shovuoth greetings, I am
Sincerely yours,
Rabbi Mendel Schneerson
Chairman, Exec. Committee
