By the Grace of G‑d
10th of Av, 5743 [July 20, 1983]
Brooklyn, N. Y.

Greeting and Blessing:

I was pleased to receive your letter of the 4th of Av, with the enclosure. Many thanks for the good news it contained, especially that Mrs. ----- has decided to turn over a distribution from the estate of her late father of blessed memory, to the Yeshiva.

Needless to say, this is certainly a source of the greatest possible gratification that one can give to a dear Neshama in the World of Truth.

There is surely no need to elaborate to you on the above. But I will add only this point, that it is especially timely now that we are coming from the period which commemorates the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash. For the basic idea of commemorating this sad event in Jewish history is to stimulate every Jew, man and woman, to do all that is possible to diminish, and ultimately eliminate altogether, the cause which brought about the Destruction and Exile, and thus hasten the end of the Golus through our Righteous Moshiach, when the days of sadness will be transformed into days of gladness and rejoicing.

I was also gratified to read about the decision regarding the building of an extension on the Yeshiva with the target date of next spring. May G‑d grant that this will be carried out with the utmost Hatzlocho.

Receipt is enclosed for your Tzedoko, and may it additionally stand you in good stead for the fulfillment of your hearts' desires for good.

With blessing,
M. Schneerson
