I don't know who you are, but I now what you stand for. I know you stand between Israel and its enemies. I know you fight not just for yourself but for all of us who stand behind Israel. Whether you are or are not a Jew, the fact that you are a soldier in IDF means that you fight to protect Judaism. For this I owe you my gratitude. Thank you for protecting my homeland. Thank you for protecting your home. I want my newborn son to know where his heritage lies. I want to be there when my husband visits Israel for the first time in his life. Because of what you do, these things are possible. And G-d willing, one day we will all be together in the holy land standing in the old city of Jerusalem. Because of you there is hope. I hope I may meet you in person some day. Baruch Hashem.

Hello,
I have been wanting to contact you, an IDF soldier and have finally found this website set up by Chabad. I am so happy to be able to write you a letter finally.
First of all I want to tell you how I feel about the Land of Israel. In 2004 myself, my husband, and my youngest daughter were blessed to make our first ever trip outside of America. We came to Israel and stayed for a month in Beit Itzhak just outside of Netanya. We rented a great little cottage with a beautiful green yard surrounding it. The place was so serene and quiet. We travelled all around the country from there, and lived the life of an everyday person, not just as a tourist. We shopped at the Super Sal and the HaSharon Mall in Netanya. We visited the townsquare and the boardwalk in Netanya. We made 3 visits to Yerushalayim. Of course the highlight of that visit was to the Kotel. The whole city was breathtaking. To see a city as old as this was something unbelievable to me.
Ever since our visit the desire to return to Israel to live has been very strong in our hearts. We love the land and the people very much. As Jews we feel connected to all of you over there.
I listen to every news program on radio and internet and read websites that keep me informed of what is going on in Israel.
I just want to let you know how important I feel that you are as the defenders of the Eretz HaKadosh. I thank you for putting yourself out there in harms way and for caring so much for your country and your fellow Jew. Because it is a holy job that you are doing and G-d is watching over you and blessing you for what you do. Every Jew in the world is responsible for one another and so I send my thoughts and prayers to you and to all of the IDF.
I hope that I can hear back from you and you can tell me a little about yourself and your life.
May Hashem bless you and keep you safe and bring all good to you and your family.

Keren

Dear Friend,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting your life in harms way, fighting for the Israeli people, and in a way fighting for all Jews across the world to be Jews.

I can imagine things must be tough right now. I cannot begin to understand the day to day life that you must live. There are people in this world who are against what you stand for and what you are protecting with your life. But know this, your efforts do not go unrecognized. I pray for you everyday. I pray that no more Israelis have to die in order to be free of terror.

All we can hope for is that one day there will be peace. I cannot pray for the entire middle east, I can only pray for the land of Israel.

May G-d be with you each and every day. And may our prayers reach you and keep you safe at such a dreadful time in our existence. This is a war that must be won for the furure of not only the Jewish people, but the entire free world.

All my love,

I want you to know how special our land is and how special you are for showing the world. We don't deserve to be terrorized, and terrorists don't deserve freedom. Thank you for fighting to ensure everyone get what he or she deserves.

G-d Willing we will soon see Moshiach, at the time when He and His Name are One, and we will merit, on your behalf and the behalf of your fellow soldiers, peace in Eretz Yisroel and peace throughout the world. Moshiach now!

I know it is not easy. I belong to the Chabad in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and I will be at Friday night and Shabbos services praying for your safe return to your family and to your good life.

I will be glad to send you and your family anything you might like from the United States. I have cousins in Vermont and they have good products such as maple syrup and nice clothing.

I have a little grandson, Jordan, who is six years' old. He has never been to Israel, but it is in his mind and heart. I purchase books and pictures for him of Israel. Israel is such a beautiful country with such fine people.

I have relatives in Haifa, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other places. My darling Ingrid, my brother's daughter just got back from Israel. She went on the tour after she completed her studies at the University of Pittsburgh. My mother and I were hoping she would meet a handsome Israeli. There is a saying in the U.S., "The Israelis are the new Italians".

Dear Friend,
I write you these lines from the beautiful and not so far from Israel island of Crete. Here in the town I live there is a historical Synagogue, Etz Hayyim, which reopened after many years of neglection after the 2WW. I hope one day you will be able to visit it and meet its small community. I would like to tell you that we all follow developments in Middle East in the hope that peace will be restored soon and everybody in Israel and in its neighboring countries will be able to enjoy this most precious gift of G-d. What seems impossible to human eyes is definitely not impossible to Him. Don't forget this and keep this hope always in your heart. I pray that you will have the strength and courage to do your duty with rectitude and mercy, especially in difficult moments, as we believe you always do. May you always be under His Wings of protection. We send you our prayers and loving thoughts. Blessings, Paola

Shalom to you and your comrades of the IDF:

My wife and I feel very close to our people in Eretz Yesrael. Her brother and spouse made Aliyah to live in Jerusalem just before the High Holy Days in 2007. They are very religious and we belong to our local Chabad House here in Sugar Land, just outside of Houston, Texas.

We have been very concerned about the war in Gaza and we well understand the need for the battle to stop the agression against Israel land and towns/cities in the Negev and in Southern Israel. Israel must exist and we support all of its activities 100%. Many of my friends and relatives, as well as non-Jewish people are in full support of your efforts, regardless of the subjective news reporting in our newspapers, TV and internet news websites.

May your efforts result in complete victory and may G-d watch over you always and bless you with peace and comfort in your daily endeavors.

Shalom,

Toda! You are a wonderful hero. By fighting terrorism, you are helping save Israel, by extension saving Jews worldwide, and working for peace in the world.

It must be very challenging and sometimes scary work. Gd give you courage. You are making a difference to people in Sederot and all Yisrael .

We pray for your safety and you are in our thoughts daily... we also know Tzahal is trying not to hurt civilians.

We were born in the US and have been able to visit Israel. What a beautiful awesome country. Someday we hope to move there, Gd willing.
Meanwhile, you stay in our hearts. HaShem bless you.
Take good care of yourself. You are family to many of us.
May we live to see shalom

Dear Brave Israeli Soldier,

I'm not Jewish or Israeli. A good friend of mine is Jewish and she asked
if I would write and I respect her a good deal. And I respect our good
friends in Israel.

May God be with you and protect you - now during Gaza and always. I'm
sure it's tough being away from home at this time. May God protect your
family and friends back home. And may God work through you and your
fellow soldiers to change hatred directed from the other side. And may
you find a common, human bond with those on the other side, those who
are decent people caught in all this...those who don't mean you any
harm. If that's realistic.

I'm Catholic and I'll say a prayer for all of you and the region.

Hi, I fully appreciate what you are doing for the State of Israel. It is a shame that we are hated by so many people. Their children are brought up to hate the Jewish people & Israel. Shalom,

Thank you so much for what you are doing for Israel, and for the whole Jewish people all over the world. I know that these are difficult times, and that you are forced in to a situation that is so negative. But please know that you are doing the right thing.

There are so many of us here in America that support you--not only Jews. I hear support from many different sides. It is so amazing to hear so many non-Jews who realize that you are doing this fight for the good of the whole world.

We are all so blessed to have you there for us. We all pray for the day when the Palestinians will wake up and want to simply live along side. That is the final goal for all. To free Israel and the Palestinians from Hamas is so crucial.

May Hashem bless you, and give you a long life of joy.
