Torah brings peace to the world. More than a guide for social justice and personal morality, Torah brings harmony to nature itself making good and evil, light and darkness, serve a greater good - G-d's vast eternal plan.
The cause is the mountain itself: it simply and stubbornly gets in the way. The wind hits it with force, and must force its way around or over. As it does so, it carries little pieces of the mountain with it
There is truth
Is it a self-improvement thing, like a woodworking class or a therapy session? Is it a duty, like obeying the law of the land and going to work in the morning?
Granted, Mount Sinai was no Everest. But G-d was coming down all the way from the heavens—couldn’t He have descended another few thousand feet, instead of making an octogenarian sage climb a mountainside?
Yeshiva Outdoor Adventure took 25 campers for a New England trek across several states and a handful of mountaintops.
