Yamit lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and children. She always enjoyed playing with pretty papers and since discovering quilling a few years ago it has become her favorite form of self-expression.
It is customary for a newly-married woman to start lighting two Shabbat candles: one for her and one for her husband. The first time she lights two is a very emotional, moment signifying that now they are two joined flames.
created as a wedding present, this art symbolizes the bond between the husband and wife: together they can withstand any storm life may bring. The leaves are blowing in the wind, but the two hearts are always together.
The warm glow of shabbat candles always brings with it the smell of challah and chicken soup, laughter and family.
This "fairy" is a master tzeddakah-giver, and encourages others to give, too.
Happy Chanukah!
This piece of art is my take on my favorite Biblical verse, "...bracha ad bli dai." May all our lives overflow with blessings!
On Simchat Torah we celebrate by dancing with the Torah.
The shape and form of the hamsa just beg to be expressed in quilling.
