I know how scared you were, how fragile your own heart was, and how many questions lay unanswered.
It’s almost like taking a deep breath before plunging underwater, unsure of one’s strength to keep on swimming before that next breath.
My special son who transforms me, inspires me and teaches me. On bright sunny days and in midst of a raging storm.
Dr. Hoppkins stayed with me for 21 hours. She did not move from my side and gave me incredible support, and now I finally had another chance to thank her.
When I received an email from Chaim Boruch’s teacher saying that the class would be going on a trip to a farmers’ market, I could not contain my excitement.
How did I not hear your unspoken words? How did I fail in picking up your puzzle pieces? How can I be your best mother if I miss the signs?
As much as I know how to interact with Chaim Boruch, figuring out how to speak to an entire class of non-verbal special-needs children found me feeling quite intimidated and underqualified for the task.
Is he feeling left out? Is he feeling sad? Frustrated?
It’s been so many years. I had no idea a little taste could take me back in time.
I find it meaningful to adorn myself with strands of love and affection, beautifully made by the small, pudgy hands of my children.
