The world has lost a rare gem, and we miss her terribly. However, we know that her soul lives on, and the greatest tribute we can give to Nechama is to emulate her kindness, gratitude, faith in each child, and her positivity and trust in G‑d.
When I first moved to Israel with my husband and three children, I was apprehensive at the thought of giving birth in a new country. Thankfully, I was in for a pleasant surprise.
Especially during wars or trying times, people question, “Isn’t it scary to raise a family there?”
Reflecting on the unique wedding of Chedva and Shmuel, I am comforted.

My husband and I, together with our children, made aliyah almost eight years ago and live in the East Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem. We are blessed to be shluchim who direct Chabad of Baka, a warm community comprised of new olim from around the world....
