Rostover Nigun

Rostover Nigun: First introduced in Rostov, Russia, and often sung by the fifth Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Sholom DovBer (the Rashab). This tune is said to help the soul free itself from the confines of the body, preparing it to absorb the G-dliness in Torah.
Chasidim sing the Rostover nigun, usually sung in preparation for a Maamar, a Chasidic Discourse. This nigun is often associated with the fifth Rebbe of Chabad, the Rebbe Rashab.
At a farbrengen, Chasidim sing the Nigun Hachanah, customarily sung before the recital of a Chasidic discourse. This nigun was often sung by the fifth Rebbe of Chabad, Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn.
