Rav Zeira: (3rd-4th centuries) Talmudic sage. In his native Babylon, he studied under Rav Huna and Rav Judah. Later, he immigrated to Israel, where he studied under Rabbi Johanan and Resh Lakish. He held Israel in high regard, saying, "The air of Israel makes one wise."
