Nathan of Babylon, Rabbi: (2nd century CE) Mishnaic sage, student of Rabbi Ishmael and Rabbi Eliezer ben Hyrcanus. He left a privileged life in Babylon to study Torah in Israel, where he was eventually appointed as the head of the Sanhedrin.
