King Pekah of Israel: Assassinated King Pekahiah and usurped his throne. Reigned from 595-574 BCE. Joined King Rezin of Aram in fighting the Judeans. King Ahaz of Judah in turn enlisted the aid of King Tiglath-Pileser of Assyria. Tiglath-Pileser conquered the northern region of Israel and took the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of the tribe of Manasseh captive. King Pekah was assassinated and succeeded by Hoshea ben Elah.
