Rabbi Shmuel Lew has been a Chabad shliach and educator in London, England, for over forty-eight years. He was interviewed four times between 2005 and 2009 about his many encounters with the Rebbe.

Rabbi Shmuel Lew’s father-in-law, Zalmon Jaffe, would visit the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home in Brooklyn, New York. As a result, Rabbi Lew had the privilege of visiting the home as well.
A few days before Yom Kippur in 1964, a sudden request came to 770 from a Jew who worked on a US Air force base in Greenland, to send a Shliach there to conduct the Yom Kippur services. Rabbi Shmuel Lew was called to duty.
