A quick and easy way to prepare baked fish.


  • 4 slices of fish (whitefish, trout, salmon, or halibut)
  • salt, to taste
  • garlic powder, for sprinkling
  • paprika, for sprinkling
  • lemon wedges, for garnish


Sprinkle fish lightly with salt on all sides. Sprinkle with garlic powder and paprika. Refrigerate for about ½ hour. Cover and microwave on high for 8–9 minutes. Let stand covered for 5 minutes. Serve warm, garnished with lemon wedges dipped in paprika.

Serves 4.


Microwave Fish with Diced Tomato: Combine: 2 large diced tomatoes with 1 small chopped onion. Stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and 2 tablespoons water. Place in a microwave-safe baking dish. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Place the 4 slices of seasoned raw fish on top. Cover. Return to oven and microwave on high for an additional 9 minutes.
