Ingredients:

  • 6 mullet fillets
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 5 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp. hot paprika
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 hot pepper (whole)
  • 3 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • 1 tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste

Directions:

  1. Heat the oil and add the onion and garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent.
  2. Add both types of paprika and the water, and broil to a boil.
  3. Add the hot pepper, cumin, tomato paste, crushed red pepper and salt. Stir until combined.
  4. Add the fish fillets and sprinkle with additional paprika (optional).
  5. Cover the pan and cook for 25-30 minutes over medium heat.
