Hot cocoa is delicious and so are marshmallows. Put them together and you have an out-of-this-world decadent experience to savor through the long winter nights. Here’s our winning recipe to get you just the right mix of texture, sweetness and pleasure.


  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. coffee granules
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt (optional)
  • Mini marshmallows (optional)


  1. Whisk milk, sugar, cocoa, coffee and salt together in a small saucepan. Heat over a low flame, but do not bring to the boil.
  2. Pour into mugs and top with mini marshmallows.

Yields: 2 cups
