Rabbi,
These quizzes are fantastic!
Some questions everyone should know (like the rainbow), others are not quite as obvious.
I really enjoy looking up the questions I miss, and retaking the quiz until I get them all correct, referring to the links in the answers.
I had to draw out the family tree of Terah: it was confusing until I realized that Nahor had married his niece: Haran (his brother) 's daughter.
I think I have that right!

As I was reading this morning a thought struck me; "Noach was 500 years old; and Noach fathered Shem, Ham and Yefet." Were these triplets or three sons of three births? Just one of those "I wonder" thoughts that doesn't necessarily bear weight in the Holy One's great Plan.
A fun quiz BTW. Reply

in response to VIRGINIA E LOWRY:

Great question! As a high risk Obstetrician, I can tell you that naturally occurring triplets are seen in 1/8000 pregnancies. It could be! Reply

in response to VIRGINIA E LOWRY:

Rashi later on concludes that they were born in three separate births, with a space of two years between each one.

See Chapter 10, Verse 21: "And to Shem were also born [children; he was] the father of all the people of the other side [of the river], the brother of Japheth the elder."

Rashi: "the brother of Japheth, the elder: I do not know [from the wording of the verse] whether Japheth is the elder or Shem. [The verse may be rendered: the elder brother of Japheth.] When Scripture says (11:10): “Shem was a hundred years old, etc.” two years after the Flood, you must say that Japheth was the elder, because Noah was five hundred years old when he first had children, and the Flood came to pass in the six hundredth year. Consequently, the eldest of his sons was a hundred years old [at the time of the Flood], and Shem did not reach [the age of] a hundred until two years after the Flood. — [from Gen. Rabbah 37:7]"

It's always good to wonder, and there is often an answer! Reply
