9 of 10! Missed #9, I thought it was the spies. Reply

Rabbi,
Another excellent quiz.
I can see the reason for the discussion of the answer for #5.
When you read the reference to this week's Parshah, I believe the answer in the quiz is spot on.
Please, people, let's not debate too much over the answer: remember that God is there for us and all He has done for us.
Answer right or answer wrong: see both points of view and move on.
We have more important items to put our attention to:
that's what I like to see in the discussions. Reply

8/10 So I too get question #5 Wrong! As a Non-Jewish person! I believe that this question is tricky! Due to the fact that in Deuteronomy 5: verse 15 does states that you were a slave in Egypt! However in Exodus 20: verse 11 states that G-d rested on the seventh day! Which is the Ten Commandments! According to the scriptures! And my understanding! Is that G-d was reminding the Jewish people of the Ten Commandments! When he reiterate that the Jewish people were a slave in Egypt! And that they should keep the Sabbath! Therefore I am agreeing with Dirk! Shabbath Shalom. Reply

The answer of question 5 is right.
In parashat Vaetchanan (Deuteronomy 5:12-15) it's not written that G'd rested on Shabat, but in verse 15 it's written to remember that you was slave in the land of Egypt" Reply

I agree with Dirk regarding Question #5. Reply

yes, I should have gotten a ten out of ten. question 5 has the wrong answer, like these people said Reply

in response to Linda Versil:

Quiz Did God really rest on the seventh day or was His Work already finished that is the question ? Reply

I agree with Dirk regarding Question #5. Reply

Dirk Salem August 14, 2019

You have question #5 wrong. If you answer according to Parashas Va'Eschanan ch.5. v.14 then the answer is the first answer not the third. Reply

Leibel Gniwisch Los Angeles August 16, 2019
in response to Dirk:

The reference should have been to 5:15 where the Torah clearly states, "And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord your God took you out from there with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm; therefore, the Lord, your God, commanded you to observe the Sabbath day."

The answer would have been "G-d rested on the seventh day" if we were referencing the Ten Commandments in Exodus.

For why the change was made, please read Why Two Versions of the Ten Commandments by Rabbi Yehudah Shurpin Reply
