At 81 years old, Arnold Edward celebrated his bar mitzvah – an event typically marking 13-year-old boys’ entry into Jewish adulthood – by putting on tefillin for the first time during a Purim party at the Rainbow Seniors Center in Gaithersburg, Md. Rabby Chesky Tenenbaum, program director of the Chabad-Lubavitch center in Upper Montgomery County, presided over the ceremony and party, which included the traditional reading of the Scroll of Esther.
