Kosher Sports Drink a Hit at New York City Marathon

November 3, 2008
A crew from Chabad-Lubavitch of Long Island City took up a position along the New York City Marathon route on Sunday to pass out kosher sports drink to any of the passing 100,000 runners. Rabbi Zev Wineberg, who had a community member participate in the race, took up the cause to offer a kosher alternative to the official sports drink of the annual event. Said the rabbi: “A marathon represents the power of a person to challenge themselves, to accomplish what they never thought possible.” (Photos: Yosef Lewis)
