Summer Yeshiva Keeps Torah Front and Center During Vacation Season

August 22, 2008
August in Israel may be a time for hikes through mountainous passes, excursions to the beach and tours of famous sites, but not for the some 100 students taking part in a summer yeshiva program in the southern city of Dimona. Organized by Chabad-Lubavitch of Tel Aviv, the yeshiva – currently in its sixth year – takes its focus from directives of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, who pushed for the summer months to be infused with Torah learning. Dozens of similar programs also operate around the globe.
