Sderot Children Soak Up the Sun Across North America

July 24, 2008
Walk through Sderot, Israel, this summer and you’ll notice that most children have left the town. Many headed to Chabad-Lubavitch run summer camps in North America and Europe for free vacations far from the worry of Palestinian rocket attacks. In camps from Los Angeles to Boston, the boys and girls of all ages enjoyed activities ranging from visits to local amusement parks to canoeing to pick-up basketball games. Local communities, assisted by the generosity of the philanthropic Rohr and Tabacinic families, underwrote the Israelis’ journeys.
