Communities Assess Their Spiritual Strength 14 Years After Rebbe’s Passing

July 8, 2008
Jewish communities around the world marked the 14th year since the passing of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, with collective soul searching and inspiring gatherings. Throughout July 6, tens of thousands of people made their way through a line of interconnected tents to spend several minutes in prayer and reflection at the Rebbe’s holy resting place at the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights, N.Y. Meanwhile, half a world away in Sydney, Australia, local community members attended several programs sponsored by the city’s Yeshiva Centre, the New South Wales headquarters of Chabad-Lubavitch.
