Communities Around the World Get Into Chanukah Spirit

This Chanukah, Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries in thousands of locations around the world enabled locals to celebrate the eight-day Festival of Lights. Parties and public menorah lightings drew children and senior citizens, politicians, dignitaries and teachers. Parades of menorah-topped cars lit up the night, as merriment the world over proclaimed the victory of light over darkness.

A slew of dignitaries joined Rome’s Jewish community in celebration of 20 years of public menorah lightings in the Italian capital. The list included Rome’s security chief Jean Leonard Touadi, regional president Piero Marrazzo, Sen. Piero Fassino, House of Deputies member Andrea Ronchi, Canadian Ambassador Alexander Himmelfarb and Israeli Ambassador Oded Ben Hur. Jonathan Cohen represented the United States Embassy.
