Mobile Menorahs Take Chanukah Message to City Streets

November 27, 2007
Thousands of cars topped with eight-branched festive candelabras, known as menorahs, will parade in cities across the globe to spread the message of Chanukah. The eight-day Festival of Lights commemorates the Jewish people’s victory over the Syrian Greeks 2,146 years ago and subsequent rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, proclaiming the triumph of light over darkness.
