The Jewish Web site Chabad.org’s roster of Torah columnists continues to grow with the addition of Rochel Holzkenner, a mother of two children and co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
An educator, freelance writer and lecturer on Jewish mysticism and feminism, Holzkenner also holds a Masters degree in brain research from Nova Southeastern University.
In an article on this week’s Torah portion of Shoftim – her fourth column for Chabad.org – Holzkenner tackles the dueling concepts of personal responsibility and circumstances beyond one’s control.
Holzkenner’s “Living Through the Parshah” column joins a lineup including Rabbi Tzvi Freeman’s “Heaven Exposed,” Rabbi Naftali Loewenthal’s “For Friday Night,” Rabbi Yossy Goldman’s “Weekly Sermonette,” and Chana Weisberg’s “Life’s Passages.”
