Tourists and Vietnamese locals with a craving for kosher Middle Eastern fare can now feast on falafel at Ho Chi Minh's Chabad-Lubavitch Jewish Center.
Directed by Rabbi Menachem and Rachel Hartman, who since arriving three years ago have opened a Hebrew school and restaurant to run in tandem with a host of Torah classes and holiday and Shabbat services, the Chabad House recently expanded the restaurant's menu — famous for its grilled fish — to include falafel and hamburgers.
The establishment is the only kosher eatery in the southeast Asian nation. ...
