As communities thoughout Israel finalize their plans for next week's Lag B'Omer celebrations, some 30 Chabad-Lubavitch centers in the country are gearing up for new additions to their annual children's parades: costumes corresponding to Judaism's home-centered mitzvahs.
According to Rabbi Aharon Kainevsky — the director of Chabad of Kfar Saba who designed assortment of Torah scrolls, Shabbat candlesticks, charity boxes and mezuzahs — the costumes will focus attention on core activities that are relatively easy to incorporate into Jewish life.
With all of his costumes sold out for this year, Kainevsky is already planning on more characters, including a walking tefillin set, for next year's parades. ...
