Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Shmuel Posner has hopes of returning his Chabad of Nova Outreach Center to Cooper City, Fla., after reaching a settlement with the Southwest Broward community and finally putting a federal discrimination lawsuit to rest.

According to the terms of the deal reported in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Posner's organization will receive $330,000 out of a $800,000 settlement with Cooper City, which U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga ruled violated federal law in 2005 by preventing the outreach center from operating in a business district.

That year, Posner moved to the neighboring city of Davie, but is now looking for an available space in near the original location.

Said Posner's attorney, Franklin Zemel: "Hopefully, no other religious [groups] will have the same problems Chabad did." ...
