Children from the Hebrew School operated by the Shaloh House, a Chabad-Lubavitch center in Stoughton, Mass., serving communities south of Boston, put together Shabbat packages to be distributed to needy families in conjunction with the Greater Boston Jewish Family & Children’s Services.
Along with their families, the children packed boxes with food and Shabbat-themed items such as candle holders and challah covers.
Said the center’s executive director, Rabbi Menachem M. Gurkow: “This was intended to be more than just a charity collection, but an educational exercise to develop an understanding of the importance of helping others in need.” …
