Joining scores of other Chabad Houses around the United States, shoppers at a mall in Cherry Hill, N.J., constructed a giant Chanukah menorah out of an estimated 1,000 donated cans of food for an annual celebration organized by Chabad-Lubavitch of Camden and Burlington Counties.

After the eight-day holiday concludes next week, the cans, which were also provided by local grocery stores, will be donated to the food bank operated by the Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey.

Similar efforts were also taking place at locations from Florida to California. …
