The new women’s program at Jerusalem’s Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies received a special visit from Rabbi Avraham Shemtov, director of Philadelphia’s Lubavitcher Center and chairman of Agudas Chasidei Chabad, the umbrella group representing the worldwide Lubavitch community.

Shemtov, who was in Israel to meet with various officials and discuss Chabad initiatives there, said that he was impressed with his tour of the women’s program, which opened in January in the neighborhood of Katamon.

“Hearing [about success] isn’t the same as seeing it,” said Shemtov. “Here, there is quantity and quality.” …
