A busload of high-ranking officers from various units of the Israeli Defense Force toured the new center of the Yad B’Yad charity in the city of Lod.

Run by Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman, the organization – whose name translates as “hand in hand” – provides food, clothing and blankets to the needy, as well as fully-stocked backpacks and holiday items for poor Israeli children.

The soldiers visited the center, which houses Yad B’Yad’s effort to distribute second-hand furniture and appliances, as part of a tour of charitable organizations in the country.

Before they left, several of the officers gave their phone numbers in order to donate some second-hand items, said Gloiberman. …
