Dozens of Israeli soldiers participated in a special printing of the Tanya in a ceremony at the Tzrifin army base in the central part of the country.
Rabbi Arik Malkieli opened the event by discussing the 32nd chapter of the Tanya – the landmark Chasidic treatise penned by the First Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, in 1798 – and its theme of loving one’s fellow Jew.
The rabbi, a soldier in the Israeli Defense Force’s Home Front Command, also said that by printing the Tanya, everyone present was helping to disseminate the Torah.
